JB (John Billeter), an orientalist of international renown, has agreed to return to Sri-Lanka at UNESCO’s request to decipher the “Crystal Book”, a treaty on the nature of memory dictated by Buddha in his last years. This book represents a challenge to JB and his past, overshadowed by his wife’s suicide. He had met her in Sri-Lanka, a place where love met with tragedy.
