SYNOPSIS

In the form of a war of succession within the Al-Azhar Mosque, “Boy From Heaven” is a thrilling closed session. This documentary shows how Tarik Saleh’s film unveils the underground but ruthless struggles between the Egyptian government and Sunni religious leaders to rule the country. It also paints the portrait of a filmmaker of Egyptian origin but living in Stockholm, straddling two worlds, in the “exact place where an artist should stand”.
