SYNOPSIS

‘Bird Now has two main characters: Charlie Parker and New York. It evokes the past splendour of Harlem, now the prey of property speculation, and the adventure of the black jazzmen of the 1940s who created their music as a challenge to segregation, police harassment… subjected to pressures of all kinds, from work cards to hard drugs.’
