Antonia and Massimo have been married for more than ten years, a happy couple living in a beautiful villa in a suburb of Rome. One day Massimo is killed suddenly in a road accident. Antonia, unable to recover encloses herself in grief until she accidentally discovers that her late husband had been having an affair with Michele for seven years.
