In Paris, for various reasons, some people are interested in the famous painter René Dimanche. His fellow countrymen are starting to discover his painting, now that he is famous all over the world and most his canvases are in New York. An American art critic is finishing a book about René Dimanche, but he has the greatest trouble finding out why the painter didn’t produce a single painting during an eight-year period.
