Lean on Pete TIFF 2017 – The Bureau – Sales

The Bureau Sales is thrilled to announce the selection of Lean On Pete, directed by Andrew Haigh in Official Competition at the 42nd Toronto International Film Festival.

Produced by The Bureau, developped with Film4 and backed by the BFI and Film4, Lean On Pete is the adaptation of Willy Vlautin’s acclaimed novel and the fourth feature by award winning writer-director Andrew Haigh (Weekend, 45 Years).

Lean On Pete follows fifteen-year-old Charley Thompson. He wants a home, food on the table and a high school he can attend for more than part of the year. As the son of a single father working in warehouses across the Pacific Northwest, stability is hard to find. Hoping for a new start they move to Portland, Oregon where Charley takes a summer job, with a washed-up horse trainer, and befriends a failing racehorse named Lean on Pete.

Charlie Plummer (King Jack),
Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire, Reservoir Dogs, Fargo),
Travis Fimmel (Vikings, Warcraft, Maggie’s Got a Plan),
Chloë Sevigny (Love and Friendship, Boys Don’t Cry, Kids)
